| A Poem for Sydney | ||||||||||||||||||
| Written for the Temples' 2-yr-old daughter, Sydney, when the gift shop was purchased in 20 | ||||||||||||||||||
| Sydney, my darlin', I want you to know How this old world works on our path here below, Some days are hard and tiring and drear, But darlin', we have a chance to give out good cheer; To brighten a sweet little grandmother's eyes, Or a newlywed couple's start to their lives; It's a grand desire--a more honorable prize The bonds we nurture like family ties Now, ladies (and some fellas) love beautiful things, And the joy to loved ones they oftentimes bring; When ribbon-tied trinkets a human soul lifts-- That's the best part of Sydney's Gifts Love, Mom |
